COMPOSER
ANDRAS ELLENDERSEN
Andras Jucksch Ellendersen (Curitiba, 1996) is a Brazilian-Faroese composer, singer and multi-instrumentalist noted for his "[maniacal] attention to every detail" (Edgar Allan Poets, 2022) and for the "[admirable] integrity of his idea to integrate [...] cultures" (DPRP, 2022).
Paired with his parallel formation as a cultural anthropologist, his torn identity between North and South has helped him carve out a musical voice which reflects upon human identity in the diversity of its resonant expression.
In 2023, he was a prize winner at the KORAL23 composition contest (Odense, Denmark) for his choral piece Den blinde, røde orm. Andras has a separate output of prog rock and jazz music under the pen name Andras Atlason.
Andras has studied composition with Samuel Andreyev, Harry Crowl and currently undergoes a mentorship with Svend Hvidtfelt Nielsen and Lil Lacy. Besides composing, he works as a singer, music educator, producer, and soloist.
